Are you from Southeast or Southwest Asia and planning to study in Japan as a privately-financed student? The Sato Yo International Scholarship Foundation is now accepting applications for its 2025 Autumn Recruitment! This is your chance to receive generous financial support to study at a Japanese university or graduate school.
Who Can Apply?
This scholarship is only open to students from Southeast and Southwest Asian countries, including:
- Southeast Asia: Indonesia, Cambodia, Singapore, Thailand, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Laos, Timor-Leste
- Southwest Asia: India, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives
Eligible applicants include:
- Undergraduate students (2nd year or above, or planning to transfer into a Japanese university)
- Graduate students (currently enrolled or accepted into a Japanese graduate school)
- No specific field of study is required
Please note that students already receiving scholarships under some specific Japanese research programs (such as the “Next Generation AI Program”) are not eligible to apply for this one.
Sato Yo Scholarship Package
The scholarship amount will be shared with successful candidates directly upon selection. However, the award typically includes significant financial support for your studies and living expenses while studying in Japan. You will also be invited to a certification ceremony in Tokyo, making this a prestigious opportunity to be recognized for your academic goals.
How to Apply?
The application process involves two main steps:
Step 1: Fill Out the Online Application

- Complete and submit the online form by Wednesday, August 20, 2025
Step 2: Email Your Documents as per this https://www.med.kyoto-u.ac.jp/news/23223
Submission deadlines:
- August 15, 2025, 5:00 PM (for students already enrolled)
- August 29, 2025, 5:00 PM (for students enrolling in October 2025 or April 2026)
Be sure to write both your receipt number and the control number (0618) on all documents.
Important Notes
- You must submit original documents later if selected.
- Handwrite Forms 1–3 using a black ballpoint pen.
- Make sure to read and understand the Scholarship Rules on the foundation’s website before applying.
