About the Future Leaders Scholarship
The Future Leaders Scholarship is a merit-based award designed to honor graduate students who exemplify the University’s core values and contribute significantly to their academic communities. This $2,000 scholarship is renewable for one year, supporting students as they pursue their advanced studies at the University of Hartford.
Eligibility Criteria
To be considered for the Future Leaders Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Get admitted to a graduate program at the University of Hartford.
- Submit a scholarship application form along with a Future Leaders Statement (maximum of 1,000 words).
Future Leaders Statement Requirements
Applicants must write an essay detailing how they plan to contribute to their field of study and foster a culture of excellence, creativity, and responsibility at the University of Hartford. The essay should:
- Reflect on previous academic, co-curricular, and professional experiences that have shaped their approach to graduate work.
- Outline specific projects, research, or activities they plan to undertake that will benefit both the campus and society.
- Demonstrate how their work will promote respect, civility, and engagement with diverse ideas and perspectives.
- Discuss how their future career goals will contribute to addressing global challenges.
Scholarship Conditions
- Available to accepted graduate students for Spring, Summer, and Fall 2025 entry terms.
- Scholarship awards will be granted for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 academic year.
- Scholarship recipients must enroll in their program of interest to receive the award.
- The scholarship cannot be deferred and cannot be combined with the Hawk Alumni Scholarship.
- Renewable for one year based on maintaining enrollment and satisfactory academic standing.

Application Deadline
- Application Deadline: The last date to apply for the Future Leaders Scholarship at the University of Hartford is July 15, 2025.
- Result Date: Scholarship decisions will be announced by August 8, 2025.
- Award Disbursement: The scholarship amount will be applied to recipients’ student accounts for the Fall 2025/Spring 2026 academic year.
