What’s Included in the Scholarship?
The Kazakhstan Government Scholarship 2025 offers a comprehensive financial support package for international students. It covers full tuition fees at top public universities, ensuring that scholars can pursue their studies without the burden of academic costs. In addition to tuition, recipients are awarded a monthly stipend to help cover living expenses throughout the duration of their program.
Many students will also benefit from free or subsidized accommodation provided by the host universities. There are no application fees involved in applying for the scholarship, making it accessible to a wider range of applicants. Moreover, an IELTS or other language proficiency certificate is not required if the applicant’s previous education was conducted in the same language as the intended program of study.
Eligibility Requisites for BS, MS, PhD Admissions
Bachelor’s Degree Applicants must be applying for a bachelor’s program for the first time and should have completed their secondary education with a minimum average grade of “Good.” Applicants are required to submit a motivational essay in Kazakh, Russian, or English, along with one recommendation letter from a previous educational institution or employer.
They must also provide a valid identity document or refugee certificate, a notarized and translated copy of their secondary school certificate and transcript, and medical certificates confirming general health and the absence of HIV/AIDS. While not mandatory, an invitation letter from a Kazakh university can strengthen the application.
Master’s Degree Applicants should be first-time applicants to a master’s program and hold a recognized bachelor’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale or its equivalent. The application must include a motivational essay and two recommendation letters. Language proficiency must be proven through international test scores unless the applicant’s prior education was conducted in the same language as the intended program.
Accepted scores include: IELTS Academic (minimum 5.5), TOEFL iBT (minimum 46), TOEFL PBT (minimum 453), DSH or TestDaF for German (Level B2), DELF/DALF/TCF/TFI for French (Level B2 or 50+), and HSK for Chinese (minimum Level 4). Applicants must also provide a notarized translation of their academic transcripts, valid ID, and health certificates, while an invitation letter from a Kazakh university is optional but recommended.
PhD Applicants must be applying for a doctoral program for the first time and possess a master’s degree with a GPA of at least 3.0 out of 4.0. The application should include a motivational essay, two recommendation letters, and a research proposal written in the language of instruction (Kazakh, Russian, or English).
Applicants must submit an international language proficiency certificate meeting the required scores (similar to those listed for master’s programs), along with health certificates proving fitness for travel and the absence of HIV/AIDS. Translated and notarized academic transcripts and degrees must also be included. While not mandatory, a letter of invitation from a Kazakh university can be beneficial
