Currently Open US Trusted Traveler Programs for 2025

Travelers Alert! Get ready for significant changes to the United States’ Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) in 2025! U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has just announced a sweeping set of updates, impacting millions of frequent flyers and border crossers.

Here’s Crucial Breakdown of New Changes to US TTP Partner Program

1. Fee Increases:

    • Global Entry, SENTRI, and NEXUS memberships are now $120. This is a substantial jump, so factor this into your travel budgets!
    • Good news for families! Minors (under 18) applying for NEXUS with a parent/guardian get FREE membership.

2. Enhanced Online Services (Starting February 2025):

    • Say goodbye to some in-person visits! You’ll soon be able to update passports, visas, and driver’s licenses digitally.
    • Name changes and citizenship updates will also be processed online.
    • CBP is increasing appointment availability for those still requiring in-person interviews.

3. “Enrollment on Departure” Initiative (Launched at Washington-Dulles):

    • Conditionally approved Global Entry applicants can now complete their interviews before international flights at Dulles. This could revolutionize the enrollment process!

4. Global Entry Expansion:

    • Australia is officially on board! Australian citizens can now apply for Global Entry.
    • CBP is actively pursuing agreements with more countries to join the program.

5. Key Program Details for 2025:

    • Global Entry: $120 (5 years), expedited entry, TSA PreCheck included.
    • TSA PreCheck: $85 (5 years), faster domestic security screening.
    • NEXUS: $120 (5 years), expedited US-Canada border crossings, Global Entry and TSA PreCheck included. Minors with parents are free.
    • SENTRI: $120 (5 years), expedited US-Mexico border crossings.
    • FAST: $50 (5 years), for commercial truck drivers.

Why the Changes?

CBP aims to modernize the TTP, increase efficiency, and handle the growing demand for expedited travel. While fee hikes might sting, the expanded online services and global partnerships are intended to streamline the process.

How to Apply for a TTP in 2025?

  • Ensure you meet the eligibility requirements (U.S. citizen, clean record, etc.).
  • Create an account on the official TTP website (CBP.gov).
  • Submit your application and pay the fee.
  • Undergo a background check.
  • If conditionally approved, schedule an in-person interview.

Don’t Miss Out!

If you’re a frequent traveler, these programs can save you valuable time and reduce stress. Stay tuned for more updates as these changes roll out.
