Who Can Apply for IEC 2025?
IEC is open to individuals aged 18 to 35 (or 18 to 30, depending on the country of origin). The IEC 2025 program offers three (03) exciting work permit options:
- Working Holiday: Open work permit allowing flexibility to work with multiple employers across Canada.
- Young Professionals: Employer-specific work permit for those seeking career-related experience in their field.
- International Co-op (Internship): Employer-specific work permit for students requiring work placements as part of their academic programs.
How to Apply?
Step 1: Create Your IEC Profile: Applicants must first create an IEC profile online. Eligible profiles will be placed in a pool based on the selected category.
Step 2: Receive an Invitation to Apply: Canada regularly issues invitations, and selected candidates will have 10 days to accept the invitation and 20 additional days to submit their work permit applications.
Step 3: Submit a Work Permit Application: After accepting the invitation, applicants must submit the required documents and pay a processing fee of CAN$179.75. Additional fees may apply depending on the work permit type.
Step 4: Receive Port of Entry (POE) Letter: Successful applicants will receive a Port of Entry (POE) letter, which must be presented upon arrival in Canada. If the applicant is already in Canada, they must leave and re-enter to activate their work permit. However, re-entering from the U.S. or Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon may not be valid for activation.
